TOKYO TOKYO TOKYO!!!!

I was one of forty Fashion Marketing students descending on Tokyo for a Fashion Trip of a life time! The five day trip was planned with military precision, every minute of our time there accounted for, so that we could cram everything in! With a population of 35 million people it is the most populated urban area in the world. You might expect a difference in style being situated half way round the world, but not to the extreme which we came across.

Department stores and exclusive boutiques stock every fashion label imaginable. The famous Ginza and Ikebukuro's giant Seibu and Tobu department stores are the largest in the world. The Exchange rate was not the best with 128Yen to every £1. Labels prices in Tokyo are typically higher than anywhere else in the world. As much as I could have filled five suitcases full of clothing my budget couldn't stretch to more than one!

Shinjuku is the district where futuristic skyscrapers are situated with hundreds of shops and restaurants and designer outlet stores such as Dior, Prada and Chanel. Unlike most cities Tokyo tends to home two to three flagship stores. Extraordinarily once they have been built after a few years they are knocked down and replaced by even more revolutionary concept stores.

Shibuya is the fashionable shopping district which also encompasses the teenybopper haven of Harajuku park which was the absolute high light of my trip. They are the best-known shopping areas for funky, youthful clothes and accessories. Almost without exception, clothes are sized for the petite Japanese frame.Every Sunday every fashion subculture imaginable comes out in force. Everything from Punks, Rockers, Elvis impersonators to groups I have absolutely no idea what to call
them??

Blown away by the sights of modern Tokyo, I was also taken back by the glimpse of old Japan. Japanese weddings take place throughout Sunday on the other side of Harajuku providing a vast contrast of elegance and tradition.

Tokyo is defiantly a must for any Fashion lover!!!

Stella McCartney A/W 09/10

I feel after doing my internship with Stella McCartney i hold some kind of attachment. Once the A/W shows had been uploaded onto the net Stella's was the first show i viewed... Compared to Summer 09 i have to say i was slightly disappointed. I still loved the clothes but there was not one key item that screamed to me that i had to have unlike the light emerald jumpsuit from S/S. But that still i loved the red blazer.

Roisin Murphy

Roisin Murphy always displays unique innovative style... sometimes i find a little to extreme for my taste but never stops me from admiring her. This is one look i have recently seen her in and love.. its a look the majority of us could actually get away with.

I Love their LOOK!

Part of my Modules is Fashionmap- Researching and analysing street style... slightly getting obsessed by it... I find i am searching and scanning street style sites 24 7!! Building up quiet a selection even though the majority are not even relevant to be topic... But here are a few of my favorites from the past month.
